Most of us have been been living our life on auto-pilot for so long that the thought of doing something (anything) different obviously scares the crap out of us. Sure we go through the motions. We say that we want things to change, but we don’t. We want approval.<\/p>\n
We want to follow the established path, so if something goes wrong, we can’t be blamed for trying something that’s never been done. The problem, of course, is the fact that\u00a0our time is limited so we can’t waste it worrying about whether we will succeed or fail, or what other people are going to think about what we’re doing. We just need to get on with it.<\/p>\n
I remember reading a great quote from Michael Jordan that said, “We didn’t lose the game, we just ran out of time.”<\/em> \u00a0That’s the thing, given enough time, we really could do it all. \u00a0We could learn all the rules, master all of the techniques, and still have time to do our own thing — but unfortunately that’s just not the way life works. \u00a0We’ve only got today to do something meaningful, to create our art, and to connect with the ones we love. \u00a0As Steve said, “Everything else is secondary.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cYour time is limited, so don\u2019t waste it living someone else\u2019s life. Don\u2019t be trapped by dogma \u2014 which is living with the results of other people\u2019s thinking. Don\u2019t let the noise of others\u2019 opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
