What else do I need to know before I can do this?<\/p>\n<p>No matter what I&#8217;m trying to do, I never feel ready to get started.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe if I read just one more book, took another class, or completed that online course&#8212;then I would finally know enough to get started.<\/p>\n<h2>Planning is easy, doing is hard<\/h2>\n<p>Thinking about and planning to do something is easy (and fun), but actually sitting down and writing a book or painting a picture is far more difficult.<\/p>\n<p>No matter what we do or where we are at in our careers, we will always have doubts. We will always be afraid that we don&#8217;t know enough to do what we want to do, or that our skills may not be up to the task.<\/p>\n<p>So what&#8217;s the secret?<\/p>\n<p>You simply have to find the courage to start without having all the answers in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Like Neil Gaiman said, sometimes you just have to sit down at the keyboard and find a way to put one word after another until it&#8217;s done.<\/p>\n<p>One word.<\/p>\n<p>One brushstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Then another.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s that easy, and that hard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What am I missing?
