We don’t feel like they’re ready to go out into the world, or we’re afraid that someone else might run off with them.<\/p>\n
We don’t know when we may get another good one, so we hold back. We wait and hold our idea safely in our pocket like a deranged Gollum muttering to ourselves about how we must protect our precious idea.<\/p>\n
Most of us have been taught to think of creativity as a limited resource. There is only so much to go around so you should use what little you may have wisely.<\/p>\n
The only problem is the fact that that’s not how creativity works.<\/p>\n
Creativity is one of things that the more you use, the more you end up having. One thing builds on another. Ideas begin to connect with one another and create something new, but the moment you try to hold on to it, it begins to fall apart.<\/p>\n
Creativity is not a possession but a gift that has to be used and shared with others. The moment we try to hold on to it or save it for later, it will inevitably slip through our fingers and disappear.<\/p>\n
Don’t wait, just give us what you’ve got. Give it all. Give it now.<\/p>\n
