Once there was an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. When they heard\u00a0the news, his neighbors came to visit. \u201cSuch bad luck,\u201d<\/em> they said sympathetically.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0replied the farmer.<\/p>\n The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. \u201cHow wonderful,\u201d<\/em> the neighbors exclaimed.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0replied the farmer.<\/p>\n The next\u00a0day, the old man’s\u00a0son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0replied the farmer.<\/p>\n The following day, military officers\u00a0came to the village in order to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son\u2019s leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0replied the farmer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I remember this\u00a0was\u00a0one of my favorite stories from when I was a kid, because it reminded me that things aren’t always what they appear to be. What may seem like bad luck at first, may turn out to be\u00a0for the best. Just as things that may seem to be good luck can sometimes blow up in your face down the road.<\/p>\n The thing is, you just don’t know until it happens, which is why there’s no reason to get\u00a0upset or beat yourself up when things don’t turn out the way you expected.<\/p>\n Maybe it’s for the best, maybe it’s not — either way it’s the way it is.<\/p>\n The only real question, is how are you going to respond?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Here’s the good.
