What’s the latest thing?
Whether it’s wizards, vampires, or the impending zombie apocalypse–it can be tempting to shift our writing towards the latest hot genre.
However, a lot of readers aren’t necessarily searching for yet another version of “Gone Girl” or “50 Shades of Grey”. Most readers are simply looking for a good story and someone who is brave enough to tell it.
As writers, we will often do better if we spend less time chasing the latest literary fad, and instead use that time to search for and eventually discover the unique creative voice that is already inside of us.
