Should you or shouldn’t you?
How many times have you found yourself in a situation like this, staring at another new opportunity or direction in your life? Now how many times in the past have you backed away from something like this because of the uncertainty it would bring? Why would anyone be willing to leave the comfort of a familiar path and venture off into the darkness of the unknown?
We do it because that is what life is all about.
There’s a famous quote by William Shedd that says “A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.” The same can be said about us as human beings. Sure we could probably go through most of our life or career and never leave the familiarity of our comfort zone, but that’s not what our life or creative art is for. Our life is about exploration and taking the chance of looking like an idiot once in awhile. It’s about facing change and being willing to push past those limits that we are constantly setting for ourselves. It’s about going beyond who we are, and finding out who we might become.
Maybe it’s time for us to stop staring and instead start living the life we were meant to live 🙂
“You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.”
~Rabindranath Tagore
