Before we can help others. Before we are able to love someone else, we need to first learn how to accept and love ourself with all of our little imperfections.
John Lennon discovered like so many before him, that before we can change the world, we need to first change ourselves. We need to alter our perspective and open ourself up to new ideas and new possibilities. They say that charity begins at home. Start by forgiving yourself and those around you.
Accept what is and forget about what could or should-have-been. As John said, all hopes for a better world rest on those who are able to open themselves up and embrace life we are living at this moment.
